Conference program launched
Based on a great selection of abstracts a programme is defined that is highly relevant to the Conference scope of The Open and Flexible Higher Education Conference 2013; "Transition to open and on-line education in European universities".
A total of almost 80 papers will be presented within 7 strands under the headings off:
Strand 1: National and institutional aspects of online teaching and learning
Strand 2: Institutional models for online or blended course and curriculum development
Strand 3: Innovations in technology enhanced learning for the future
Strand 4: Quality assurance in online and distance learning
Strand 5: Moocs and OpenupEd
Strand 6: Good practices of transitions to open and flexible learning
Strand 7: Research strand on national and institutional aspects of opening up education and institutional models for curriculum development and delivery.

The 'MOOCs and OpenupEd' initiative well represented at the conference
MOOCs are nowadays an important driver in the transition to open and online education and therefore a dedicated strand of the 2013 conference.
The popularity of MOOCs is also reflected in the number of abstracts received also in direct relation to the new OpenupEd initiative. The strand 'MOOCs and OpenupEd' now offers a 2 day programme on how MOOCs can contribute to the opening of education, increase accessibility, innovates the ways we educate, influence assessment and business models and even can change the education system.
In addition a special Masterclass on the role of MOOCs in Higher Education is offered as a pre-conference event.
