Call for Visionary Papers on the Future of Open Education

Open Educational Resources (OER) and Practices (OEP) have recently become hot topics, not only for educational researchers, but also for policy makers in Europe and abroad. There is a general agreement that openness has the potential to widen access to education and to improve, amongst others, cost-efficiency and quality of teaching and learning. In its recent Communication on Rethinking Education, the European Commission announced a new initiative on “Opening-up Education” to be launched mid-2013.

This survey is being conducted by the Open Resources: Influence on Learners and Educators (ORIOLE) project. It aims to collect and share data about how learning resources are used and sourced in higher education (i.e. university-level education).

Call for Submissions - MOOCs and Beyond: eLearning Papers Issue 33

eLearning Papers is currently welcoming submissions which address the challenges and future of Massive Open Online Courses, a trend in education that has skyrocketed since 2008. Issue 33, MOOCs and Beyond, seeks to both generate debate, and coalesce a variety of critical perspectives into a fruitful body of research.

Open Praxis released a new journal issue focusing on the concept of openness and its growth and use in higher education. This special issue is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License.
