This weekend Ignasi Labastida will be present at the OER-Konferenz 2013 in Berlin. This conference in German about Open Educational Resources. The conference is organised by German UNESCO commission in cooperation with Creative Commons.
NEWTON, MA and SALVADOR, BRAZIL – The leaders of two important educational associations met yesterday to sign an agreement to promote open access and innovation in higher education. This agreement brings together the OpenCourseWare Consortium’s global membership with that of ABED, the Brazilian Association of Distance Learning, to jointly promote open education and its impact on teaching and learning worldwide. This agreement marks a significant step in the advancement of open education efforts around the globe.
From 18 to 20 September the KU Leuven is organising a summer school on Digital Humanities. The event is organised by Fred Truyen and from OpenCourseWare Europe Sophie Touze and Willem van Valkenburg are presenting.

The School of Open is offering its second round of facilitated courses! Starting today, you can sign up for 7 courses during a two week period; sign-up closes 4 August (Sunday) and courses start on or after 5 August (Monday). All courses are free to take and open to reuse under the CC BY-SA license.
